How Hey Peeps started

After maternity leave, I had a choice: return to the 9-to-5, or build something that really mattered. As a Brisbane mum of two small kids, I know how quickly a day out can turn into a UV crisis. Australia has the world's highest skin cancer rates and UV levels that regularly hit extreme (11+), yet I kept seeing kids at beaches and parks without proper eye protection, or wearing cheap sunnies that'd snap by lunchtime.

What I found were plenty of options that ticked the safety boxes, but by the time you added a strap, a case, and shipping, the "affordable" pair wasn't anymore.
