Welcome to
Sunglasses for small peeps who don't do gentle
Category 3 lenses, frames that bend instead of snapping, and the strap, pouch and shipping already in the price.
How Hey Peeps started
The good ones all came with a catch
By the time you had added a strap, a case and shipping, the affordable pair was not affordable anymore.
I am a Brisbane mum of two small kids, and I know how fast a day out turns into a UV crisis. Australia has the highest melanoma rate in the world and UV that regularly hits extreme. Yet I kept seeing kids at beaches and parks with no eye protection at all, or wearing cheap sunnies that had snapped by lunchtime.
So after maternity leave I skipped the return to the nine to five and built Hey Peeps instead. Category 3 lenses in flexible TPEE frames that survive being stuffed in nappy bags, dropped from prams, and tested by siblings.
Everything is included. A pouch, a cleaning cloth, a free strap for the 0 to 2s, and the shipping. The sun is serious. We just don't think buying sunnies has to be.
Now go and get yourself a snack. You've earned it.
The range
Because the best sunnies are the ones they will actually keep on
Round, rectangular, keyhole, wayfarer and heart frames, in a colour range that runs from goes-with-everything black to a yellow you can spot across a playground. Two size ranges, 0 to 2 and 3 to 7, because a frame that slides down a toddler's nose gets thrown out of the pram.

Independently lab tested
All eleven lens models measured against AS/NZS 1067.1:2016, the Australia and New Zealand sunglasses standard.
-
99.9%+
Of UVA & UVB blocked, measured on both lenses of every model.
We don't ask you to take our word for it
Most sunglasses carry a UV claim. Ours has a number behind it. Every lens was read individually in an independent laboratory, not copied off a supplier's spec sheet. All eleven models came back Category 3 and passed the standard's coverage test for children's sunglasses.
Testing covers the lenses on the samples submitted: transmittance, filter category and coverage area.

Packaging
Packaged like we give a damn
Your sunnies arrive in a HeroHex mailer: FSC certified kraft paper, lined with paper honeycomb instead of plastic bubble wrap. Paper the whole way through, so the empty one goes straight into your kerbside recycling.
There is a second adhesive strip inside. Peel, seal, send something of your own, or recycle it.
Australian kids deserve clean beaches to play on. That starts with the small decisions, like what you ship a pair of sunglasses in.
